I’ve always had a bit of a mixed feeling doing shows like #BHMPH. Great music shouldn’t have come down to showcasing it based on ethnicity, gender, religion or other marginalized status and generally on MPH noise radio the musical tapestry is agnostic. However, to pretend all musicians were (or even still are) treated equally seems narrow-mindedly privileged. Therefor, in celebration of Black History Month we’re moshing to black legacies and learning about the Black Music Therapy Network, www.blackmtnetwork.org and how they impact communities of color in need.
