Capital Radio 10-20: Song of the Werewolf

The Halloween focus on Capital Radio was on that hairy subset, the werewolves. And there were a lot of them, in a 21-song salute that included everybody from the Cramps to Paul Simon.

We began with a lot of tributes, to soul master D’Angelo, Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley and folkie Bob Franke, who all died last week, and to R&B bassist Anthony Franklin, who died Sunday at 73.

A lot of birthdays were celebrated, for Tom Petty, who would have been 75; Wanda Jackson, turning 88; Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub, 65; and Snoop Dogg, turning 54. And we heard a bit from Jelly Roll Morton and Charles Ives, both also born on this day in the 19th century.

And we didn’t let the big No Kings protests go unnoticed.
