Capital Radio 9-29: Walking Through Italy

A recent hike through Italy inspired half of this week’s Capital Radio, with songs about walking, Italians, pilgrims and the treasures of Rome. It included pop songs sung in Italian and three different songs titled “Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day.”

We caught up with musicians we lost this month — Bobby Hart of Boyce and Hart, Crickets member and songwriter Sonny Curtis and English double bassist Danny Thompson. And celebrated the birthdays of Jerry Lee Lewis and Gene Autry.

The show began with a salute to the latest city to undergo the unnecessary threat of National Guard troops to fight imagined crime problems, Portland.
