Capital Radio 11-18: Shel Talmy’s Legacy

The death of influential producer Shel Talmy last week at 87 brought a wealth of music from the bands whose sound he helped shape – from The Kinks and The Who to The Creation, The Damned and Perpetual Langley.

This week’s Capital Radio also remembered the legacy of longtime jazz drummer Roy Haynes, who died last week at 99, and celebrated the birthdays of Graham Parker, turning 74, Hank Ballard, born this day in 1927.

The 61st anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy this week brought an array of music from Jerry Lee Lewis to Lou Reed to The Police. And it was an occasion to play Bob Dylan’s longest song.

Closed with the recently visiting Slow Pulp.
