Capital Radio 4-1: April Fools Edition

The new month brings songs of April, from Deep Purple to Simon & Garfunkel. Then April Fool’s Day songs from Patti Smith to Rufus Wainwright. Then all manner of songs about foolishness in general; 25 in all, from Elvis P. to Elvis C.,Bobby Fuller to Bryan Ferry, including  two different songs titled “Fool Killer,” and two from Ricky Nelson.

As for birthdays, we celebrate Ronnie Lane on what would have been his 78th birthday. Also noted the birthdays of Mark White from ABC, turning 63, as well as Amos Milburn, born this day in 1927, Alberta Hunter (1895), Debbie Reynolds (1932) and Gil Scott-Heron (1948).
